Meet Jake
Over the years, the name Jake Hunter is one consistently found among those recognized as the region’s finest sound engineers and highly respected musicians.
From 1983 to 1990, Hunter was co-owner and chief engineer of Novus Productions in Charlotte, a multi-room facility specializing in Commercial Advertising and original music production. Hunter sold Novus and moved to Los Angeles when he was signed by Motown, as a member of the band Curio. In his years on the West Coast, he was contracted for recording projects with Windswept Pacific Publishing and Paramount Pictures, including “Another 48 Hours,” starring Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. Additionally, Jake was contracted for television recording projects including episodes of CSI Miami, Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy, among others.
Upon returning to the Carolinas, Hunter spent three years as chief engineer at Studio East, a world-class multi-room recording facility where he worked with the country’s finest beach bands and other high profile clients. In 1993, Hunter opened White Room Studios, introducing the latest in recording technology and services to his growing clientele. Hunter’s credits include engineering three gold records, two platinum records and three Grammy-nominated albums.
Now, Jake resides in the Charlotte area and serves as VP, Broadcast & Event Services at Bank of America. He oversees the day-to-day operation of Hunter Production Group along with a handpicked team, specializing in AVL production, design and installation as well as live streaming services. Of course, he also still enjoys sessions in his recording studio along with various music production projects - the passion that started it all.
